Mother's Day- Creating a Memory Through Photography

When my son was in Kindergarten he gave me a gift that made me cry because it was so beautiful. I still have it!

This was 12 years ago and I swore that every mother figure of my kindergartner's would feel the joy I did so I have worked with my students on creating these pictures and frames ever since!

We start out by dressing fancy and getting our picture taken! I love how involved the kids get. Instead of playing, they want to watch and help out!

Next we glue pasta to frames. It is so fun to watch how deliberate they are as they place each pasta on their frame. So much love is put into each detail!

I spray paint the frame a very shiny silver.

We put their pictures in and glue this poem on the back. This was the same poem that was on the back of my son's. I don't know if Mrs. Hamm wrote it herself, but it's perfect! Of coarse this year the date said 2015!

I can't tell you how much fun we have creating these! They love dressing up and posing for their moms!

I hope all of the moms and mother figures in my Kindergartner's lives this year love receiving these as much as I did 12 years ago!

Here are all of my fancy friends! I adore these cuties so much! Happy Mother's Day!

  1. How were you able to keep the photo black and white, and the flowers colorful?

    1. It's an app on my iPad called ColorBlast. It's so easy to use! It would work on he iPhone too.
